Di Chairman of Nigeria Governors Forum wey be Governor Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State announce dis development on Sunday wen im lead about 25 governors go visit President Bola Tinubu for im Lagos residence. Di meeting wey hold for Ikoyi area of Lagos include Vice President Kashim Shettima and Chief of Staff to di President, Femi Gbajabiamila.
According to AbdulRazaq, di governors don submit dia contribution to di proposed state police framework to di National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu. Di document go now move to National Assembly for proper legislative action wey go create legal backing for state police across Nigeria.
“On di issue of state police, discussions dey ongoing amongst various security organisations, led by di National Security Adviser, and NGF don make im contribution. Dat document go go National Assembly to see how we fit get legislative framework for state police,” AbdulRazaq yarn for di meeting.
Di NGF chairman tok say governors dey commit to renew dia collaboration with security forces to defeat terrorism and improve security for all parts of Nigeria. Im emphasize say all stakeholders must work together to make sure say security breaches for di kontri comot completely.
“As governors, we commit to renew our collaboration with security forces to defeat terrorism steadily, expand infrastructure opportunities and improve di lives of our people,” AbdulRazaq add. “Together, we must see say breaches of security all over di kontri come to an end.”
Di meeting wey hold during Ramadan and Lenten season also give governors chance to congratulate President Tinubu for im recent state visit to United Kingdom. AbdulRazaq describe di UK trip as historic because na first state visit to UK in 37 years.
“We congratulate you on di successful state visit to United Kingdom and di many successes and investment proposals achieved during di trip. While our nation don always enjoy good relationship with United Kingdom, di state visit, di first in 37 years, na bold and significant move,” im tok.
Di governor express optimism say agreements wey dem sign during di visit go strengthen relationship between Nigeria and UK and bring more prosperity to Nigerians. Im also commend President Tinubu Renewed Hope agenda wey im say don make Nigerians proud and increase citizen participation for nation-building.
About 25 governors attend di meeting wey AbdulRazaq describe as sign of respect for President Tinubu leadership. Among governors wey attend na Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, Alex Otti of Abia State, Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State, Douye Diri of Bayelsa State, Hyacinth Alia of Benue State, Bassey Otu of Cross River State, Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State, Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State, Monday Okpebholo of Edo State, Peter Mbah of Enugu State, Mohammed Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State, and Umar Namadi of Jigawa State.

Dis development come after Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu, constitute committee for February to develop modalities for establishment of state police.
