Muslims believe say na dis time dem first receive the Quran Alpha and Omega 1,400 years ago, so e mean plenty for dem. Fasting no be just about food, but na time to connect with God better, show some “taqwa”, wetin mean say dey fear God. Dis fasting wahala fit last about 12 to 15 hours, depends where you dey for the world sha.
No forget say Ramadan dey move backward every year. E dey shift 10 to 12 days earlier, because wetin? Islamic calendar na lunar calendar, wey only dey last 354 days. So unlike solar calendar, Ramadan go just dey waka! As we dey enter 2030, we go see wahala wey go make Ramadan dey happen twice that year, first one go start January 5, and second one December 26. Chai! Wetin dey happen na?
People wey dey Northern Hemisphere go get shorter fasting time dis year, cause na winter wey dey there, dem go fast about 12 to 13 hours for first day. But people for southern side like South Africa, Chile and New Zealand go dey waka famished for about 14 to 15 hours on the first day. But no worry, as days dey go, dem fasting hours go begin reduce.
As Ramadan dey approach, many Muslims everywhere don begin prepare for this holy month. E go better pass if you make suhoor na your main priority before fasting start. Na dis meal go help your body hold for the hunger wey dey reach sundown for iftar!
Abeg make we no sidon just dey think about food; dis month na chance to pray more, read Quran, and help dem wey need am. Ramadan na serious matter for Muslims; na time for reflection, community and self-discipline.
