Obasa, Ambode dey push for Tinubu second term for 2027, dem talk say reforms dey important

Political big men for Lagos State, Mudashiru Obasa and Akinwunmi Ambode, don come out to dey talk say President Bola Tinubu suppose run for second term for 2027 election. Dem talk say di continuity of Tinubu administration go help Nigeria to enjoy di benefits of di Renewed Hope Agenda wey dey change di country economy and development.

Obasa, wey be Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, and Ambode, wey be former governor of Lagos State, make dis call during one interfaith prayer session wey dem organize for Ikeja to mark President Tinubu 74th birthday. Di event wey The Mandate Movement organize gather political leaders, party faithful, and religious leaders from across Lagos State.

For im speech, Obasa talk say Tinubu don show say im get vision with di way im dey run di country. Im mention some of di policies wey Tinubu don introduce, like di removal of fuel subsidy wey don help states to get more money, and di Nigeria Education Loan Fund wey dey make students to go school without too much stress. Obasa also talk about di Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway wey im say na big project wey go bring more business and tourism for di country.

Obasa commend First Lady Oluremi Tinubu for im Renewed Hope Initiative wey dey help women with farming, give food to people, and set up digital learning centres. Im call all Nigerians to support Tinubu and all APC candidates for di 2027 general elections.

Ambode for im own side praise Tinubu leadership and im legacy. Im talk say Tinubu don help to stabilise di country and di economy, and im express confidence say Nigeria go continue to dey better under Tinubu administration. Ambode urge Nigerians to rally behind di President re-election bid so dat di nation fit enjoy di full benefits of im reforms.

Other people wey talk for di event include Tayo Ayinde, wey be Chief of Staff to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Stephen Ogundipe, and Lanre Ogunyemi. Dem all join to dey praise Tinubu achievements and pray for im good health and wisdom to continue to lead di country.

But for one different matter, former presidential aide Laolu Akande don criticize Tinubu response to recent terrorist attacks for Borno State. Akande talk say even though Tinubu direct military high command to relocate to Maiduguri after suicide bombers kill 23 people and injure 108 others, di President no show enough empathy. Akande ask why Tinubu no fit stopover for Maiduguri before im travel to United Kingdom for state visit, or at least send personal message to Nigerians to show im dey feel di pain of di people.

Akande talk say leadership no be only about security directives but also about showing solidarity with citizens when dem dey suffer. Im express concern say Nigerians don begin dey used to terrorist attacks and violence, and leaders dey appear emotionally distant from di people suffering. Im also question di size of di presidential delegation to UK, wey include several state governors and ministers, when not all of dem get specific roles to play.

Despite dis criticism, di main focus for di political scene remain on di 2027 election. Obasa and Ambode position show strong support for Tinubu within di APC, especially from Lagos political bloc. Di call for continuity suggest say di party dey prepare early for di next election cycle, with Tinubu reforms as di main selling point.

Di event for Ikeja serve as both birthday celebration and political rally, with attendees including Islamic and Christian clerics wey pray for Nigeria peace, unity, and development. Di combination of religious and political elements for di program highlight di way Nigerian politics dey mix with faith-based support.

As di country dey look toward 2027, di debate about Tinubu second term go likely continue, with supporters pointing to im economic policies and critics raising concerns about security and empathy. But for now, di message from Lagos political leaders clear: dem want Tinubu to continue beyond 2027 to consolidate di gains of im administration.
