FG Don Seal Deal for UK University to Open Campus for Naija Students

Naija government don take one big step to make international education dey for our backyard. Federal Government don seal partnership with Coventry University for UK to open campus for Naija. This one mean say Nigerian students go fit collect UK degree wey dem recognize worldwide without dem travel go abroad.

Minister of Education, Dr. Olatunji Alausa, wey follow President Bola Tinubu travel go United Kingdom, hold meeting with university leaders, investors and development partners to push the project forward. According to Federal Ministry of Education, the degrees wey dem go award for the new campus go be the same as the ones dem dey give for UK proper.

The new Coventry University campus go dey for Alaro City for Lagos State. The school go offer Bachelor and Master degree programs for areas like Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Medicine (STEMM), Business, and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

Admission into the new campus suppose start between third and fourth quarter for 2026, but dem say e go depend on regulatory approvals. Government officials talk say this partnership go help reduce cost of getting foreign degree for Naija parents and students.

Minister Alausa talk say the initiative go allow families enjoy benefits of international education without dem send their children travel go abroad. “We want Nigerian parents to enjoy their children being at home while still receiving a world-class UK education,” the minister talk.

Federal Ministry of Education dey work with United Kingdom Department for Business and Trade for this collaboration. Dem say the plan na to make Nigeria become regional hub for knowledge, innovation and skills development for Africa.

This development come as Federal Government don introduce Learner Identification Number for students and plan to phase out JSS entrance exam. The new UK campus partnership na part of government plan to expand access to global education and improve employability of Naija graduates.

Experts say if the project work well, e go help strengthen Nigeria skills base and make our graduates compete better for international job market. Many parents don start to ask questions about admission requirements and school fees for the new campus.
