Na this wahala burst from the Auditor-General report wey show say councils like Abuja Municipal, Bwari, Gwagwalada, Kuje, Abaji, and Kwali no dey follow the financial rules plenty. Dem show say some liabilities dey stack up to N7.65 billion as at December 31, 2021. Na only una fit imagine the kind una remittance wey no dey happen! Dem dey owe pension, VAT, and all those kind taxes wey be di backbone of government.
The report show say Gwagwalada dey hold non-current assets of N336 million wey dem no document well, e be like say dem wan make dem disappear! The way dem carry money for capital projects na another serious matter, as dem no fit account for 37 percent of wetin dem spend. Dem hammer N5.03 billion for AMAC alone, wetin dey shine on top all this troubles.
Hon. Bamidele Salam, wey be Public Accounts Committee Chair, don land waste no time to talk say dem don receive this audit report and don send letters to the chairmen of these councils. Dem tell dem make dem come show face on February 11, 2026. But he no gree make dem sit down do as dem like, warn say if dem no show, dem fit land for arrest! E mean say serious business dey ground here!
