New Law Go Fit Block Budget for MDAs Wey No Submit Accounts

Wetin dey happen for Naija? E be like say government agencies wey no dey submit their yearly audited financial statements fit soon dey miss their budget o! This one na fresh move wey come from the House of Representatives wey dey tighten accountability matter wey many MDAs dey run from like say na hot pepper.

For long, e don dey clear say many Ministries, Departments, and Agencies no dey do wetin dem suppose do. Dem dey fail to submit di necessary audited accounts wey go help Auditor-General do im work. E don clear say this wetin dem dey do dey affect National Assembly wey suppose dey check wetin dem dey spend and see if dem dey follow di rules wey dem set.

As di matter be now, e be like say lawmaker dem don collect idea wey go make MDAs take their financial matters serious. Di House of Representatives don propose constitutional alteration wey go force all dis agencies to submit their financial statements to Auditor-General within 90 to 180 days of di new financial year. If dem fail to do am, dem fit collect serious wahala for budget allocation.

Now the Public Accounts Committees no dey smile at all, because dem don complain say without up-to-date audited accounts, e dey hard to track how di money dey fly around. Na so di House decide say make dem don push this new law so that MDAs no go get choice than to follow di law or face dire consequences.

Under di new proposal, anybody wey work for any government statutory corporation or family wey dey represent them go make sure say dem give full financial breakdown on wetin dem dey do. Imagine say dem fail to comply, di National Assembly go just block dia budget for next year like say dem dey close shop. E strong o!

Di kind punishment wey dey come with this new law go mean say if you no comply, dem go collect your name waka go National Assembly, wey go fit exclude you for budget matter. Na wetin we dey call plan wey fit make any agency sit up and do wetin dem suppose do, before e too late.

Lawmakers dey reason say if dem fit put this law in place, e go make MDAs dey pick dem game serious, because nobody wan miss budget wey fit help dem do dia work. E go also strengthen accountability and make sure say di money wey dem dey play with dey go where e suppose go.

Na from January 2026, di National Assembly go resume from Christmas break, and dem go vote on dis law. So all dis MDAs make dem ready, because di fire dey burn now!
