My people, wetin dey happen for Enugu don scatter ground as court don deliver gbege!
Last week, Enugu High Court sharp-suit dem British government make them cough out £420 million for the families of 21 coal miners wey dem kill for 1949! Na true wah! E no be small matter!
Dem miners dey protest for better working conditions when British colonial police carry gun open fire like say na movie. Dem just dey ask for better pay and no more harsh conditions! But wahala no go finish. Na sorry-sorry they get.
Justice Anthony Onovo na him catch the koko for this matter, make we sabi say no be play play. He talk say the way dem take kill these miners no fit stand for law. E be like say dem wan use dem as example, but justice don show face!
The British government no even show face for this matter in court; them dey hide like say dem no hear wetin dey happen! But the judge no wan hear any excuse, him say dem go pay dem compensation sharp-sharp plus apologies for their actions!
This judgment na big win for historical accountability, my people! Dem miners wey die dey now turn heroes for the region; their memory dey dey carry load of justice wey don land for dem families. E be like miracle but nah true olodo history be this!
The ruling fit go beyond our borders o! Na message wey dey rang loud and clear: “No be everything wey padlock we go just close mouth, we go open our mouth for wetin be true!” Dem Britain go still gatz hear from Nigerian government as dem dey talk say dem go engage them diplomatically within 60 days to make sure say money no go dry for their side wahala!
For many years now, families don dey campaign for this matter, and now e don turn to reality as dem dey see tangible result! Na hope for the future and signal say we go no allow our history fade away.
As we dey follow the hot gist, one thing wey clear be say the struggle for justice no dey end. We go dey eye this matter, and we go dey watch as the British government go answer feedback!
