Abuja, Nigeria – Adefowora Abiodun, one of the suspected promoters of the cryptocurrency trading platform, Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX), don surrender to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday.
Dis surrender come after Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court for Abuja last week approve EFCC make them arrest six promoters of CBEX as dem investigate alleged fraudulent activities wey reach over $1 billion.
The court ruling, wey happen on Thursday, include say EFCC fit detain the promoters, pending dem finish investigation and possible prosecution. Abiodun, alongside five other suspects, dey wanted as EFCC counsel, Fadila Yusuf, make report on dem involvement in matter.
After hearing the EFCC application, Justice Nwite talk say, “I don listen to wetin the EFCC lawyer talk. I don check the affidavit evidence and documents wey dem provide. I dey satisfied say di application good and I dey grant am as dem pray.”
As the six promoters dey wanted, Abiodun, go the EFCC headquarters around 4:00 p.m. on Monday, accompanied by him lawyers. E show say him ready to cooperate with the anti-graft agency.
