Di union announce di strike inside one statement wey e issue on Tuesday, after di 14-day ultimatum wey e give Lagos State Government on August 31 expire. According to di union, di ultimatum expire without any satisfactory resolution or concrete plan from di state government to address its demands.
ASUU talk say its final warning wey e issue on September 10 make am clear say “silence is no longer an option,” but di government allow di September 13 deadline pass without starting dialogue.
“The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) Joint Campus Group comprising Lagos State University (ASUU-LASU), Lagos State University of Education (ASUU-LASUED), and Lagos State University of Science and Technology (ASUU-LASUSTECH) hereby declares a total, comprehensive, and indefinite strike action effective immediately,” di union talk.
Di union major demand na di full domestication and implementation of di December 2025 ASUU-Federal Government of Nigeria agreement across all Lagos State-owned universities.
