Eyewitnesses talk say the cyclist dey too close to the truck and as he dey turn, wahala burst. Na so na, him lose balance and the truck just run am over no be small. E no even reach time for am to shout.
As these things dey happen, LASTMA officials wey don dey work for that area come rush enter control the traffic. Dem no let dem waste time, dem catch the truck driver wey try run after the accident. Dem hand am over to Ikeja Police Division make dem carry out proper investigation.
Sola Giwa, di Special Adviser to di Governor on Transportation, come talk say e dey very painful and wetin fit avoid this kind tragedy. Him express condolence to di family wey dey mourn this loss say no family suppose go through this kind pain.
Giwa advise all cyclists and motorbike riders make dem dey careful for Lagos roads, especially for highways wey get fast cars. E stress say dem need to follow traffic rules make nobody get injury again for dis kind scenario.
State government dey already drop plenty campaigns to educate people wey dey ride bicycles, motorbikes and even skateboard wey dey navigate Lagos road. Dem dey push make everyone sabi say expressways no be place for dem. “Dis kind roads no sabi take people wey dey ride slow, e fit be danger for them,” Giwa talk.
He still encourage all road users to dey alert and obey all the traffic laws, say na collective effort go fit stop this kind wahala for Lagos. LASTMA don confirm say dem go continue dey enforce road safety, dey educate dem about safe practices each time.
