Lagos-Abeokuta Road Go Close Small, No Wahala!

No be small matter o! Lagos State Government don talk say dem go close part of Lagos–Abeokuta Expressway for four weeks. E go start from Wednesday, February 11, 2026, because Federal Ministry of Works wan do rehabilitation work wey dey necessary for some bad sections of the road.

Na Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, wey be the Commissioner for Transportation, talk dis one for statement wey dem post for Lagos State Ministry of Transportation’s X handle on Tuesday. Dem go fix the road from U-Turn Bus Stop to Sango Tollgate, both lanes go feel am, no be only one side o!

Dis work go start on February 11 and end on March 11, 2026. Dem plan am in two phases to make sure say traffic no go jam too much. For Phase One, wey go affect Abeokuta-bound traffic, dem go start from February 11 go March 4. Dem go divert cars wey dey comot Lagos to one half of the road, small away from the work area.

According to the statement, once dem finish work for one lane, dem go send traffic enter the freshly repaired side, while dem go still dey work for the other side. Osiyemi talk say people wey dey travel to Lagos no go feel any wahala during this Phase One.

Now, as we dey prepare to enter Phase Two, wey go start from March 4 till March 11, 2026, na Lagos-bound traffic go be di next wey dem go affect. For dis time, traffic from Abeokuta/Sango Tollgate go enter half of the road as well, safety measures go dey intact to make sure say everything dey go smoothly.

Osiyemi talk say dem get traffic management plans wey go help road users through dis construction period. He don advise make everybody plan their movement well, follow the traffic signs and cooperate with the officials wey dey on ground. Make we all get patience throughout this repair work wey go benefit us all in the long run.

This announcement no be only for dis road, as everywhere dey busy with infrastructure work for major federal highways across the region. Na time to join hand to fix our roads well well, so no be to complain but to cooperate as we dey move go better future.
