Yahaya Bello, former Governor of Kogi State, has been released from the Kuje Custodial Centre after meeting the bail conditions set by the Federal Capital Territory High Court.
The court had granted Bello a N500 million bail with three sureties in like sum, who must be notable Nigerians with landed property in Maitama, Jabi, Utako, Apo, Guzape, Garki, and Asokoro areas of Abuja.
The sureties were required to deposit documents of the landed property with the court registrar alongside two recent passport photographs. Bello was also ordered to deposit his passport and other travel documents with the court.
The judge further ruled that Bello must not travel out of the country without the permission of the court and that he should remain in the Kuje correctional facility until the bail conditions are met.
