Wednesday don show face again! Part 1 go drop for Netflix Aug. 6!

LAGOS, Nigeria — Wednesday Addams go return with her spooky adventures on Netflix, Part 1 of Season 2 dey come out on Aug. 6, followed by Part 2 wey go show on Sept. 3. Jenna Ortega go reprise her role as the iconic daughter for the Addams family, and dis season dey promise more twists and turns as she navigate life for Nevermore Academy.

In a new teaser wey Netflix just drop, Ortega talk about wetin e mean to her to return as Wednesday. “The most exciting thing is being able to revisit her,” she tell Tudum. “Wednesday Addams na one of the coolest characters of all time, so to have gotten the opportunity to play her once na incredible, and then to be able to slip into the costume and tone again, e dey very fun. She dey run circles around everybody wey she talk to, so to play person wey smart pass you na funny and strange experience, but enjoyable too.”

This season, wahala dey loom as Wednesday go dey school with her little brother Pugsley (Isaac Ordonez), wey dey start im own journey for Nevermore. Their parents, Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones) and Gomez Addams (Luis Guzmán), go also dey for campus, adding to di tension as Wednesday try to maintain her independence. Creator Alfred Gough talk say, “Season 1 really focus on Wednesday, but now we go expand the other characters’ stories and the show itself.”

New faces go join the returning cast, including Wednesday’s roommate Enid (Emma Myers) and frenemy Bianca (Joy Sunday). Not forgetting Tyler (Hunter Doohan), wey na barista by day but dey turn deadly Hyde at night, plus Thing (Victor Dorobantu) wey dey always by Wednesday side. With dis many underlying stories, expectations high for di new season.

But no carry your mind waka too far. “Nothing is what it seems in Season 2,” creator Miles Millar tell Tudum. “Wednesday go enter dis season believing say she sabi di school well, but as soon she return, everything dey turn upside down. She think say she dey in charge and know where all di bodies dey buried, only to realize say she dey play catch-up.”

Tim Burton, di director and executive producer, weigh in on di family drama. “Your family at school na di worst thing possible, isn’t it? I never wanted my parents to come to school. Poor Pugsley go also suffer as e dey try to fit in.” Pugsley go dey explore im own unique powers as he take enter Nevermore.

Another addition na Joanna Lumley, wey go play Hester Frump, Morticia’s mother and Wednesday’s ally. Millar express excitement over her casting, “Hester relationship with Wednesday go be unique; you go see something special when dem dey together on screen.” Lumley join di cast tell say, “There’s always something thrilling about working for Tim Burton. I dey wear many big wigs and constraining clothes, so I love am.”

As the story unfold, after Principal Weems’ (Gwendoline Christie) shocking end for Season 1, fresh leadership dey come as Steve Buscemi join di cast as Principal Barry Dort. “Steve bring new energy to dis season,” Burton share. Buscemi add, “I don dey follow di Addams family since di beginning, and I dey excited to portray a mysterious figure like Barry Dort.”

With Wednesday’s trust already shaky after di revelation say Tyler na di killer from Season 1, her relationships go sure face more test. Millar remark, “Bringing di family to Nevermore go bring more conflict for Wednesday’s character, especially di mother-daughter relationship wey dey central to di series.”

Die-hard fans fit look forward to how Thing go handle im emotional baggage and trauma as Ortega suggest. Uncle Fester (Fred Armisen) go return too, bringing more humor and hijinks to di storyline. “Dis year, we expand im role more, and I believe say fans go love am.”
