Abuja, Nigeria — A group of criminals known for robbing commercial tricycle operators and their passengers on flyover bridges in Abuja don catch serious wahala. Members of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) arrest two suspects on Wednesday night.
The VGN commander for the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), John Samuel, confirm the arrest, identify the suspects as Muhammad Abubakar and Misbahu Abubakar. According to Samuel, dem catch dem red-handed for Nyanya bridge after dem just steal ₦20,000 from a tricycle operator.
Samuel explain say the cries of the victim alert the VGN operatives wey dey patrol the area. “We respond swiftly and manage to apprehend dem before dem fit escape,” he talk to Abuja Metro. He add that dem retrieve the stolen money from the suspects and return am to the rightful owner.
“We take the suspects go our office for Nyanya for investigation and profiling before we hand dem over to the police for further action,” Samuel state. This quick response by the VGN operatives don show the importance of local vigilance in tackling crime within the community.
