Troops of the 63 Brigade of the Nigerian Army have successfully rescued four kidnapped victims in Ugbolu Forest, Oshimili South Local Government Area, Delta State. The rescue operation was carried out following intelligence reports about suspected kidnappers in the area, as stated by Major Emmanuel Onoja, Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, on Tuesday.

On December 9, 2024, the 63 Brigade troops launched a raid on the kidnappers’ hideout, engaging them in a fierce gun battle. The kidnappers were overpowered and fled, abandoning their captives. The rescued victims are now in a secure location receiving care.

The army spokesperson urged the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities to security agencies, reaffirming the army’s commitment to eradicating crime in the region.

Troops are continuing to pursue the fleeing criminals to ensure they are brought to justice.
