Senate Don Set Death Penalty for Kidnappers, E Don Serious!

Abuja, Nigeria – E be like say our lawmakers don finally yan say ‘enough is enough’ as dem don approve new resolution wey go fit bring serious punishment for those wey dey kidnap people. Wetin dem dey call am? Death penalty! If dem catch you for kidnapping matter, na so-so death you go hear. Abeg, how we go take survive dis one?

Dem senators hold serious palaver for Wednesday, November 26, 2025, after all dis wahala wey dey happen for dis country. The motion wey Senator Lola Ashiru carry come, na about the rampant insecurity wey dey cause sleepless nights for many people, especially for Kwara, Kebbi, and Niger States. Na wetin cause fire for the debate be dis recent attack on Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Eruku where dem kill two worshippers and carry away 38 others. Chai! E no too much?

Under dis new arrangement wey dem don approve, if you dey court for kidnapping case, no be say you fit just pay fine go home rejoicing. Na death be di maximum penalty now, and dem dey serious about am. Dis one go make kidnappers think twice, or e go make dem run left for the forest? (I guess we go soon see). Lawmakers express serious concern about how dis matter don dey affect schools across five local areas wey shut down because of fear of more attacks.

But that no be all. Senators talk say dem need to increase security for public places like schools and churches, where people dey gather. Dem don even talk say, before bandits strike, soldiers wey suppose protect one primary school for Kebbi don run come out. People dey ask, wetin happen? Who give dem order to abandon their post? Questions plenty, answers dey shy away.

Senate don also notice say poor highways like Idofian–Omu-Aran–Eruku–Egbe–Kabba don dey help bandits carry out their operations. Na so we dey see highway wey suppose connect people, turn to escape routes for bad guys. Dem even mention say all these bandits dey use technology and intelligence networks—like sabi boys wey fit two-Weeks notice when next to strike. E be like movie but na reality we dey face.

As the senators dey plan how to tackle dis wahala, dem also give shout-out to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for show face and cancel hin foreign trips just to make sure say him fit oversee security issues. E be like the President dey take dis matter personal. Lawmakers dey encourage di federal government to do more as dem rescue victims—51 students for Niger and 38 for Kwara but security dem still dey lack.

In summary, this matter don pass joke, and we dey hope say dis new law go bring serious changes. But make we dey look out, as e fit still bring more wahala if dem no seriously address all di issues wey dey follow am. We go dey watch how everything go unfold as dis new law take action. E no go easy o!
