Ogoni People No Go Mark Dem Tragic Day, Dem Dey Fear Attack

Port Harcourt, Rivers State – As the day dey approach, Ogoni Liberation Initiative (OLI) don make am clear say dem no go gather to remember the grim day wey dem execute eight innocent environmental activists before. Na Dr. Fabeke Douglas, wey be the President/CEO of OLI, talk am, say dem dey receive plenty threat messages and security no dey sure.

For one statement wey him release, e talk say dem don hear say dem fit get another wahala when over 1,000 people gather for prayer last two months. That prayer session na for the innocent activists wey suffer for their people, but instead of peace, na wahala dem see. Imagine, over 1,000 people dey pray, and na competing security personnel from Bori Division wey suppose protect them, go cause gbege. E no fit make sense!

Na John Idamkue, a former UN delegate, don come come out too, talk say President Bola Tinubu make e help wipe Ogoni people tears, as Ogoni matter don dey neglected all these years. Idamkue dey feel say our leaders don abandon their people since the days of Ken Saro-Wiwa. (No be say people no dey hear dem, na just that the sound no dey reach their ears.)

Dr. Fabeke dey vex as e dey remind people say that day wey dem execute dem activists na the highest level of wickedness wey Africa don see, and the whole world too. E be like say dem don forget how dem perish for the sake of their homeland. Na why Fabeke talk say any commemoration wey dem wan do go take place small-small, and only with important diplomats—we no go fit shake body for public.

He also recall say the memory of that tragic day no fit disappear from dem minds and dem dey wait for police report on wetin really happen for that prayer gathering wey dey turn bad.

According to him, “upon personal investigation, I discover say many people wey I respect don join hand with evil conspirators from Ogoni.” Na them dey follow those wey no care about the people, but only wan chop Ogoni resources. Na wah! (As if dem fit pack resources like say na potato!)

Fabeke advise all members of OLI make dem calm down, as dem no go hold any event until dem see how dis matter fit unfold. “Make we continue to pray and trust God to give us real answers wey go change our society for good,” e declare.

He dey also fear say many young Ogoni people dey get entangled for these evil plans, because of short-term gains wey no fit satisfy their destiny. “We dey pray say God go open their eyes and have mercy upon them,” na wetin Fabeke talk about the youth wey don enter wahala.

In gist, na matter of time, freedom go show face, and God’s judgment go surely happen. Make we hold our faith, call on God for intervention, and no forget say the day of judgment dey near!
