Lagos, Nigeria – Gospel singer Nathaniel Bassey don talk say e no go monetise im official YouTube channel for di Hallelujah Challenge wey him launch for 2017. During live session wey he host, Bassey don raise alarm about how some fraudulent channels dey clone di official stream from im verified page, NathanielBasseymain, just to catch viewers and make money.
“Dem dey join Hallelujah Challenge from fake pages for YouTube,” he talk. “E be like say some criminals, crooks, and scams dey clone our channel to air di prayer session just to cash out.” (Abeg, no be small wahala na!)
Di Hallelujah Challenge dey happen twice a year, featuring plenty popular gospel artists and clergy people wey dey come together to pray and worship, and e don dey attract people from all over di world! Bassey also talk about di wahala wey e dey face for social media—people dey drag am from both sides. If he monetize di channel, dem go shout say e dey do ministry for money, and if he no do am, dem go accuse am say e dey pride.
“Dem don drag me all dis time. Wetin I go do? If I monetize, dem go say I dey do am for money. If I no do am, dem go say I dey proud. We no go monetize am. I no dey led to do am. God go bless us some other way,” he add. (E be like say him sabi wahala too well!)
Bassey urge viewers to sabi di channel name and no fall for unofficial links. He dey emphasize say di initiative na free spiritual offering, no be business wey wan cash out. “If you dey watch dis now and you no dey for NathanielBasseymain, dat one na di official YouTube page. Any other page na scam wey dey try to merchandise di grace of God,” he talk.
Organizers don dey urge participants make dem report any suspicious pages and stick to di official handle wey no fit fail dem. (Abeg, make we shine our eyes o!)
