Abuja, Nigeria – E no go surprise you say Naija youths don scatter ground again. Dem dey cry say jobs no dey anywhere! (As if work dey grow on tree, abi?)
Last week, we see how dem gather for National Assembly, dey shout and dey wave their placards like say na football match. Dem no gree hear any nonsense. According to dem, many graduates dey waka for street like lost sheep, while companies dey chop money and no dey hire anybody. Na wah!
Omo, one youth wey dey among dem, Adeola, talk say e don spend four years for university only to find say naija no get space for am. “We dey face serious wahala,” e talk. “The system no dey favor us!” (For real, Adeola, you no gree tell us new thing.)
As dem dey shout, some politicians dey sit down for their offices dey sip cold drink, just dey look the drama. Some people dey say maybe if dem fit make noise reach Federal Government level, dem go hear dem. But how far? (We no sabi if dem go take this one seriously oh.)
Meanwhile, we no go forget say this wahala no be new matter. For years, Naija youth don dey chop dis matter, as unemployment rate dey rise like suya wey dem no fit turn down well. E reach 33% as of 2020, and we no sure say e don better since then.
Even families dey shake head for the house as dem dey ask the popular question: “When you go fit marry?” But wetin you go tell them? Say you dey look for job wey no dey? (Na im be your plan?)
So, the issues dey plenty, and as dem dey protest, we dey hope say any serious change go happen for dis country. Make we just dey watch as matter dey unfold. Na only time go tell.
