Malik McLemore don suffer serious injury for Leipzig Derby

Leipzig, Germany – Malik McLemore, a 28-year-old player formerly with the team from 2017 to 2019, has suffered a severe injury during the recent Leipzig Derby. The injury occurred in the match against Chemie Leipzig, and the club has now made the diagnosis public.

McLemore, who scored 14 goals in 59 appearances during his earlier tenure, is currently playing for Regionalliga club FC Lok since last winter. Tragically, he has torn the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee, a serious injury that will require surgery in the coming days.

This injury means that FC Lok will be without McLemore for several months, impacting their squad significantly. The club expressed their concern over the player’s condition and extended their support as he prepares for the surgery.

In a statement, the club said, “We are all behind Malik during this challenging time and wish him a successful surgery and recovery.” McLemore’s experience and scoring ability are critical to the team’s performance, and fans are hopeful for his swift return.
