Abuja, Nigeria – As of Tuesday, 25 February 2025, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has reiterated that the deadline for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration remains 8 March 2025. This was disclosed by the JAMB Spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, in a recent statement.

Dr. Fabian Benjamin emphasized that the registration period, which commenced on 3 February 2025, will not be extended beyond the scheduled date. He noted that the deadline has been clearly communicated through various channels, including advertisements and the official calendar for the 2025 UTME.

“We wish to inform all prospective candidates that there will be no extension of the registration period. This notice is particularly important given the recent decline in the number of candidates registering for the examination. We urge all individuals who wish to participate to register promptly and avoid waiting until the last minute,” Dr. Benjamin stated.

According to Dr. Benjamin, over 1.5 million candidates have successfully registered for the 2025 UTME, a figure that aligns with JAMB’s projections. He further explained that the Board’s calendar includes subsequent programmes such as examinations, results management, and admissions, all of which are coordinated with other agencies. “Extending the registration period would disrupt not only our plans but also those of our partners,” he added.

The Board has encouraged candidates to complete their registration as soon as possible and adhere to the established timeline for the 2025 UTME.
