Kungiyar kasa da kasa ta IOM (International Organisation for Migration) ta sanar da sallamar kudin da ya kai dalar Amurka $668,000 ta hanyar Rapid Response Fund don tallafin agaji na gaggawa ga al’ummomin da bala’in ambaliya ya shafa a Nijeriya.
An bayyana haka a cikin wata sanarwa da IOM ta fitar a ranar Alhamis. Sanarwar ta nuna cewa kudin zai tallafawa ayyukan agaji na gida-gida da abokan huldar IOM ke gudanarwa, wadanda suka hada da Relief Rescue Initiative, Safer World Foundation, da Community Engagement and Social Development Initiative a jahohin Jigawa, Katsina, da Bauchi.
Tun da yake lokacin damina ya ci gaba a Nijeriya, fiye da mutane 1.3 milioni sun shafa bala’in ambaliya a shekarar 2024, tare da mutuwar akalla mutane 320 da laka 258,000 hectares na filayen noma.
Bala’in ambaliya ya kuma jawo rasuwar mutane da yawa, inda fiye da mutane 740,000 suka bar gida saboda bala’in.
A cikin watan Oktoba, IOM ta kammala raba kudin da ya kai dalar Amurka $1.8m ga kungiyoyi tara na gida da na kasa da kasa don tallafin ayyukan agaji na gaggawa.
Kudin na biyu ya kai jumla zuwa fiye da dalar Amurka $2.4m da IOM ta raba ga abokan huldar gida don jibu bala’in ambaliya a Nijeriya a shekarar 2024.
“Mun baiwa godiya ta musamman ga USAID’s Bureau of Humanitarian Assistance, saboda gudunmawar su ta Rapid Response Fund wacce ta yasa aikin agaji zai yiwu,” in ji Paola Pace, Shugaban aikin IOM a Nijeriya ad interim.
“Gudunmawar su na da mahimmanci wajen yin IOM da abokan huldar gida su bayar da taimako na rayuwa da kuma taimakawa al’ummomin su gyara da su dawo daga tasirin bala’in ambaliya,” in ji ta.
