Earlier this week, di Erie County Legislature react by filing resolution wey go urge Poloncarz and Governor Hochul to revoke dem orders. Poloncarz talk say he no sabi say di memo dey go out in di first place.
“I was disappointed say dem send am out, and I say e no make sense to send am out at dis time when lawsuit dey go on to determine di validity of am,” Poloncarz talk. “I don hear say e fit expire on April 9, so I tell di personnel commissioner to cancel am, and dem dey pause am until dem determine whether di lawsuits go allow dem to hire di individuals or e go just rescind by di governor.”
State Senator and Minority Leader Rob Ortt don urge di governor to rethink di executive order wey dem pass earlier dis week.
“Di people wey violate dem responsibility to public protection na di governor and Democratic majorities wey pass HALT, wey pass cashless bail, and other things like dat,” Ortt talk. “Na dem be di people wey don violate dem role to protect di public. Corrections officers don dey go to work under dis horrible conditions for years, and dem don finally reach breaking point.”
