Federal Government Don Raise Minimum Age for Tertiary Admission to 16 Years

Abuja, Nigeria – The Federal Government don set clear rule say 16 years go be minimum age for admission into tertiary institutions dem. Education Minister, Dr. Tunji Alausa, drop this fresh policy for press on Tuesday during di 2025 Policy Meeting of Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) wey happen for Abuja.

Alausa no gree make anybody play with di age policy, as e talk say no institution fit admit any pikin wey dem don pass 16 years. Na serious matter o! If you try am, you dey violate national policy and dem go show you pepper (e mean wahala go come your way).

“Di official age of 16 wey government set no be matter wey we fit argue about,” na wetin Alausa talk. E further warn say any school wey bypass di Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) go find themselves in trouble. CAPS na di system wey every school suppose use for dem admission process.

“Any admission wey happen outside CAPS go be illegal, and dem go prosecute anybody wey dey involved,” Alausa talk like person wey mean business. So, if you dey think say you fit clever pass dem, better shift because dem go catch you.

Di Minister talk say dem go hold any head of institution wey don play with age or dey do wrong things for admission accountable under di law. E no wan hear say dem dey manipulate di system again. This one na part of di government effort to ensure sey dem restore credibility, standardization, and transparency for di admission process. So, no more shortcut inside dis education matter!
