Building Weh Don Collapse for Lagos, People Don Dey Trapped Inside

Lagos, Nigeria – A multi-storey building on Oremeta Street in the Ojodu-Berger area of Lagos State collapsed on Saturday morning, trapping an unknown number of individuals beneath the rubble. The structure, reportedly under construction, also housed the popular EqualRight Restaurant.

Eyewitnesses reported that the collapse occurred around 8 am, catching both occupants and passersby off guard. One eyewitness, who preferred to remain anonymous, expressed concerns over the building’s safety, stating, “Anyone who knows that building should know that it was a bomb waiting to explode. I hardly go there to buy food because I was always scared the building would collapse while I’m there.”

The cause of the collapse remains unclear at this time, but rescue operations are underway. The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has arrived on the scene and is leading the rescue efforts, awaiting additional support from other government agencies.

As the rescue mission continues, anxious residents and onlookers have gathered at the site, hoping for updates regarding those still trapped inside the wreckage. “Right now, we cannot ascertain how many people are trapped under the rubble, but we are praying for a successful rescue,” the anonymous eyewitness added.

Details about the incident will be provided as the situation develops.
