Brentford, England – The young Bees showed their strength on the pitch with a dominant performance against Sheffield United, winning 6-1 in a thrilling Under-18 match on Saturday.
Brentford started off strong, maintaining control of the game early. The first real chance came in the 12th minute when Golding received a perfect delivery from an Otis Honor corner, but he headed over the bar.
Shortly after, Domeiro Bobb-Semple attempted to capitalize on a loose ball in the box, but his shot was saved by Sheffield United’s Thomas Betts. Golding, however, found his footing, scoring the first goal of the match in the 16th minute after converting another corner from Honor.
The Bees didn’t stop there, adding a second goal just seven minutes later. Kaya Halil made an impressive through ball to Peters, who expertly slotted it into the bottom corner, giving Brentford a comfortable 2-0 lead.
As the game progressed, Brentford continued to dominate. Boni secured the third goal after a brilliant team move, finishing from close range to leave the opposition struggling.
The second half saw more of the same from Brentford, with Ollie Shield almost extending the lead with an acrobatic effort that was cleared off the line by Lennon Patterson. Poliakov made it 4-0 in the 62nd minute, seizing on a loose pass from the goalkeeper and coolly finishing into the bottom left corner.
Golding added his second goal shortly after, hitting a well-placed shot into the top corner. Despite the onslaught, Sheffield United managed to score a consolation goal through Charlie Bulmer.
As the game neared its end, substitutes Owusu and Giscombe added two late goals, bringing the final score to 6-1. This victory marked the Bees’ biggest win of the season.
Brentford’s Under-18s will look to carry this momentum into their next match against Fleetwood Town on April 12.
Brentford’s squad included Wolfheimer, Shield, Ivanov, Golding, Klimas, Honor, Bobb-Semple, Halil, Boni, Poliakov, and Peters, with unused substitutes Anderson and a yellow card given to Halil.
