Chibuike Uloka, wey be de former Spokesperson for Atiku Abubakar‘s 2023 Presidential Campaign, don slam Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, over de ongoing insecurity and cult killings in de state.
In a press statement issued on Monday, Uloka call for Soludo’s resignation, saying dat de governor’s tenure has been marked by ‘failure’ and dat he no longer have any justification to remain in office. Uloka claim say Soludo no demonstrate de capacity or clarity required to deliver meaningful change since he take over as governor on March 18, 2022.
Uloka highlight say de primary responsibility of any government be to safeguard its citizens’ lives, but he accuse Soludo of failing to uphold dis oath as enshrined in de Constitution of de Federal Republic of Nigeria. He urge Soludo to step down and allow de Deputy Governor to assume leadership until new elections can be held.
Uloka cite de recent tragic events in Nibo Community, Awka South Local Government Area, where innocent citizens were brutally murdered, as evidence of a breakdown in governance. He criticise attempts to downplay de atrocity as mere cult-related violence, saying it indicates a government disconnected from de realities on de ground.
According to Uloka, human life in Anambra has been devalued, with daily reports of kidnappings and killings. He note say during Soludo’s nearly three-year tenure, there has been a disturbing rise in violence, raising concerns about de governor’s ability to protect de people.
In response, Soludo’s Media Aide, Ejiofor Ejike, dismiss Uloka’s claims, asserting dat de governor is effectively managing Anambra and dat insecurity has been reduced to de barest minimum. Ejike say de state government and security agencies have vowed to hunt de perpetrators and further address insecurity.
