Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar don praise Nigeria’s former military Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon, as him celebrate his 90th birthday.
Atiku describe Gowon as a refined and uncontroversial public figure with an unwavering commitment to national unity and integrity. Him commend Gowon for his role in keeping Nigeria together despite the challenges the country face, especially during the 1967-1970 civil war.
The celebration of Gowon’s 90th birthday attract many dignitaries, including President Bola Tinubu, represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume; former President Olusegun Obasanjo; immediate past President Muhammadu Buhari, represented by former SGF Boss Mustapha; and former Senate President Bukola Saraki. Other prominent attendees include the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Ganduje, and former Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole.
Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Alhaji Dr Muhammadu Sa’adu Abubakar III, who chair the occasion, also praise Gowon for his sacrifices in keeping Nigeria united. Him say that Gowon’s life is worthy of emulation and pray for him to live beyond 100 years in good health.
