Ancelotti fit for Brazil? Na rumour don dey circulate!

Madrid, Spain – The reports surrounding Carlo Ancelotti‘s potential exit from Real Madrid for Brazil‘s national team have gained momentum. Speculations have circulated for months, and even though Ancelotti has brushed off questions in numerous press conferences, new developments suggest he might be leaning towards the move.

Multiple sources, including ‘The Athletic‘, claim that Ancelotti is expected to leave Madrid, with Brazil’s national team eyeing him to lead them into the 2026 World Cup. He stands out as the primary candidate for the managerial vacancy, while Jorge Jesus, the current Al Hilal coach, is also under consideration. The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has reportedly expressed that Ancelotti is “the dream of the president.”

Despite Ancelotti’s public statements indicating that he will only leave if the club decides to let him go, sources assert that discussions between Ancelotti and the Brazilian side are progressing. Reports suggest that a CBF emissary was present at Madrid’s recent Champions League quarter-final defeat against Arsenal to meet with Ancelotti.

However, the CBF issued a statement to ‘The Athletic’, denying claims of sending an emissary to the game. They clarified that only Rodrigo Caetano, the executive coordinator for the men’s national teams, and CBF president Ednaldo Rodrigues are handling the matter from Rio de Janeiro. Meanwhile, Real Madrid must clarify its coaching situation ahead of the upcoming Club World Cup, scheduled to commence on June 14.

Sports journalist Fabrizio Romano added that Xabi Alonso remains the top choice for Real Madrid to replace Ancelotti. He noted that Bayer Leverkusen is unlikely to block Alonso’s potential transfer, as the coach showed intent to join Real after turning down offers from the Premier League and Bayern last year.
