Abducted Ondo Pastor, Wife, Children Regain Freedom

Operatives of the Amotekun in Ondo State have confirmed that the abducted Anglican priest, Rev. Canon Olowolagba, his wife, and two children have regained their freedom. The family was kidnapped on Sunday, December 22, along the Ise Akoko-Iboropa road in Akoko North-East Local Government Area of Ondo State.

According to reports, the kidnappers had demanded a ransom of N75 million for the release of the family. However, details of how they were freed were not immediately disclosed. The Bishop of Akoko Anglican Diocese, Babajide Bada, had earlier confirmed the incident and the ransom demands made by the kidnappers.

The family, which included Rev. Canon Olowolagba, his wife, Mrs Olowolagba, their 16-year-old daughter Goodness Olowolagba, and a nine-year-old girl named Idowu, were traveling from Ipesi when they were abducted. Their release brings relief to the community and the Anglican Diocese of Akoko.
