Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State don deliver emotional speech to pay tribute to im wife, Pastor Patience Umo Eno, wey pass on to be with de Lord on Thursday, September 26, 2024. In im broadcast speech on Friday, October 4, 2024, Governor Umo Eno describe im wife as everything a man could ever wish for in a virtuous woman.
Gov Eno thank all Akwa Ibomites and Nigerians for deir love, support, prayers, and words of encouragement since de unexpected death of im wife. He specially thank President, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, Secretary to de Government of Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, and other Governors, both serving and former, who send condolences.
He also appreciate de solidarity shown by First Ladies of other 35 States, former Governor Obong Victor Attah, immediate past Governor Udom Emmanuel and im wife, Chief of Defence Staff General Chris Gwabin Musa, Inspector General of Police IGP Kayode Egbetokun, and many others.
Gov Eno commend de security agencies for maintaining peace during dis solemn moment and urge dem to continue maintaining peace as de state prepare for Local Government Elections. He also thank de people for honouring im late wife by flying de flag at half mast for seven days, which will end on Saturday, October 5, 2024.
Further announcements on de burial arrangements will be made public at de appropriate time, as de family will not mourn as those who have no hope in Christ Jesus.
