9mobile Customers Suffer As Network Block Porting, Calls, Texts For Weeks

Abuja, Nigeria — Thousands of customers of the telecommunications operator 9mobile currently dey suffer as dem no fit make calls, send texts, or use their SIM cards due to network issues. Dis situation don dey persist for over a month, with many subscribers reporting ‘No service’ or ‘Emergency calls only’ messages across the country.

A subscriber wey identify as Ifiok Samson talk say di network issues don dey happen since last year, but e don dey get worse recently. ‘We barely get service for two days in a week,’ he say. ‘I don try to port since January, but dem don block am.’

Investigation by DAILY POST for major areas in Abuja show say 9mobile customers dey face serious challenges. For Kubwa and Central Area, na only complaints customers go bring, as dem no fit carry out any calling or texting. A vexed customer from Kubwa express say e don lose business because of this network issue and call on the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to sanction 9mobile.

A few subscribers echo di same frustrations for social media. One commenter from Ibadan mention say, ‘9mobile network don dey down for over two weeks with no recovery date.’ Another one from Kano lament say, ‘We don lose plenty business calls, especially since na our primary lines we dey use.’

Another customer recount say, ‘I haven’t been able to use WhatsApp for almost 24 hours because I can’t verify my number. Calls, SMS, nothing dey enter this God-forsaking SIM!’ As di network problem continue, di calls for intervention from NCC dey grow stronger.

Meanwhile, di Founder of Omega Power Ministries, Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, don call out 9mobile, accusing dem of punishing Nigerians. ‘Is NCC still di regulatory body for telecommunications in Nigeria? Or dem don collect bribe?’, he ask. ‘Dis modern-day slavery go not stand. Nigerians deserve di right to use any network dem want.’

Also, Rep member Akin Alabi don suggest say customers need both an association and a therapy group due to di ongoing frustration from 9mobile services. Di plight of 9mobile customers dey gather momentum, and di pressure on NCC to take action go continue to intensify.
