President Bola Tinubu don approve appointment of 26 officials into boards and leadership of 10 Federal Government agencies and commissions. Former Ekiti State governor Ayo Fayose don land as chairman of Rural Electrification Agency (REA).
The announcement come on Monday through statement by President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga. Major General Junaid Bindawa also get appointment as chairman of National Salary and Wages Commission.
Fayose go head REA board alongside Ahmadu Abubakar and Ilyasu Makinta, wey dem appoint as members and non-executive directors. The board also include agency’s Director-General, Abba Aliyu, and three executive directors wey dem appoint earlier.
President also approve eight additional appointments to National Salary and Wages Commission. Former federal lawmaker Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas become secretary of the commission. Ogbole Lilian, Oladele Olatubosun and Yakubu Barde go serve as commissioners representing Benue, Oyo and Kaduna states.
Other members of the commission na Mai Adamu Yau from Borno, Ginika Tor from Enugu, Lawrence Okoh from Edo and Bello Iyabode from Kogi.
The statement also announce reassignment of Tosin Adeyanju. Tosin Adeyanju wey dem previously appoint as Executive Secretary of National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF) don move to Revenue Mobilisation and Fiscal Commission as Secretary.
President Tinubu make fresh appointments to other agencies too. Abuh Mohammed become Director-General of National Population Commission (NPC). Akinola Odeyemi get nod as Managing Director of Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading (NBET). Anthony Godwin take over as chairman/CEO of Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission.
Julius Oloro, wey be former council chairman, na new CEO of Kwara-based National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM). He replace A. R. Kamal wey die last January.
President also constitute board of Fiscal Responsibility Commission with Abdullahi Saidu as chairman. Other board members na Mohammed Asmau, Mohammed Makama, Suleiman Gidado, Louis O. Ndukwe, Amaechi Ugwele and Olaniyi Onikola.
Shuni Dahiru don become Executive Secretary of National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education. He replace Shu’aibu Aliyu wey dem reassign to Petroleum Trust Development Fund (PTDF) for April.
Gisaor Vincent Iorja also get appointment as Executive Director (Finance) of Federal Housing Authority. He replace Mathias Byuan wey resign to contest Benue State governorship election. Iorja na economist, legal scholar and academic wey dey serve as secretary of Benue State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC).
According to Presidency, all the appointments take immediate effect.
