Imo state governor, Hope Uzodinma, don warn say Nigeria democracy fit dey for trouble if opposition parties no build strong structure to challenge APC for 2027 election.
Uzodinma yarn dis during APC presidential primary where President Bola Tinubu emerge as party candidate for 2027.
According to am, democracy dey grow well when political competition dey healthy. He urge opposition parties to strengthen themselves instead of dey complain about APC dominance.
“E no be democracy again if no opposition dey. I encourage opposition parties to work hard, do wetin ruling party don do, and when, by God grace, e become their turn, dem go elect dia own president,” Uzodinma tok.
Governor also claim say APC grassroots strength don already put di party for strong position for 2027 presidential election.
“If you look at wetin dey happen for grassroots, how grassroots don dey stimulated, starting from membership registration wey dem do electronically, to validation of members, you go see 35,000 human beings for just one ward for all its local governments,” he yarn.
“E mean say if all our party members vote for President Bola Tinubu, e don already win di election.”
Uzodinma add say APC electronic membership registration exercise expand participation and deepen grassroots inclusiveness across Nigeria.
“Di membership registration as di All Progressives Congress conduct am, take care of grassroots inclusiveness, and today e dey manifest for di realities of our democratic situation for Nigeria,” he tok.
Governor also praise Tinubu, saying di president don show strong political leadership and deserve another term for office.
“President Bola Tinubu don do enough to deserve going back for second time. I want congratulate am for taking time to do politics di way e suppose be done,” he add.
Meanwhile, President Bola Tinubu go receive Certificate of Return and APC flag as presidential candidate for 2027 elections on Sunday for Abuja.
