Imo state governor, Hope Uzodinma, don talk say Nigeria democracy fit dey for trouble if opposition parties no build strong structures to challenge All Progressives Congress (APC) before 2027 elections.
According to Uzodinma, wey speak on Saturday during APC presidential primary wey President Bola Tinubu emerge as party candidate for 2027, democracy dey grow well when political competition dey healthy.
The governor urge opposition parties to strengthen themselves instead of dey complain about APC dominance. E say, “It is no longer a democracy if there is no opposition. I encourage opposition parties to work hard, do what the ruling party has done, and when, by the grace of God, it becomes their turn, they will elect their own president.”
Uzodinma also claim say APC grassroots strength don already position the party strong for 2027 presidential election. E explain say, “If you look at what is happening at the grassroots, how the grassroots have been stimulated, starting from the membership registration, which was done electronically, to the validation of members, you can see 35,000 human beings in just one ward in all its local governments.”
E add say, “It means that if all our party members vote for President Bola Tinubu, he has already won the election.”
