Fubara Promise Project Go Finish, Wike Man Chinda Take Over APC

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara don assure pipo say im administration go continue to deliver on ongoing projects for the state, no matter the political wahala wey dey happen.

He recall say the Port Harcourt International Airport bypass project wey dem flag off last December during the commissioning of airport road, na because of the wahala wey host communities dey cause when dem dey block the airport road to protest against airport authorities.

“We’ve always had these issues where the community, whenever they want to express dissatisfaction over some activities of the airport authority, will block the airport road,” Fubara yarn.

The governor explain say such actions dey spoil economic activities for the state, but the new bypass go give communities their own entrance while airport operations go continue smoothly.

“The purpose of the bypass is so that the community can have its own entrance, while the airport road will remain only for airport activities once the road is completed,” im tok.

Fubara disclose say contractors don finish about 65 percent of the work and dem suppose deliver before October.

“I want to assure our people that, notwithstanding the situation of things, one thing that we have promised everyone is that every good work that we have started, by the special grace of God, we will continue and complete,” the governor tok.

Im add say government dey high spirits and dey prioritise Rivers State interest for all actions.

But for another side, the APC don settle for Hon. Kingsley Ogundu Chinda as their consensus governorship candidate for Rivers State, with backing from FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.

Alabo George-Kelly, one former APC governorship aspirant, don throw im support behind Chinda, saying the decision to adopt one candidate na to strengthen the party for 2027 election.

George-Kelly, wey participate for APC primary, say im voluntarily step aside to allow Chinda emerge under the Rainbow Coalition backed by Wike.

For a statement for Port Harcourt, the former aspirant describe the consensus arrangement as “leadership in action,” and say e show unity and strategic political calculation inside APC for Rivers.

Im commend Rainbow Coalition members for their “wisdom, foresight, and political maturity” for settling for Chinda.

George-Kelly argue say Chinda years for House of Representatives and im understanding of legislative and Niger Delta issues position am as capable candidate.

According to am, the coalition dey determined to present experienced candidate wey fit lead Rivers State and align am with President Bola Tinubu policies.

The APC chieftain reaffirm im loyalty to Wike, wey im credit for providing “direction, structure, and purpose” for the coalition and APC for Rivers.

Im pledge to work for Chinda electoral victory and urge party members to unite ahead of general election.

Some analysts dey see this move as state capture, where powerful individuals take control of state institutions for their own private interest.

Dem say Fubara wey fight to keep state from Wike reach, but Nigerian government fail am.

Wike, wey be PDP chieftain, dey influence APC choices, including governorship candidate, and dis na sign of big state capture.

State capture don weaken vital institutions like military, police, judiciary, legislature, civil service, and INEC.

Dis na why terrorism dey persist and government dey impotent to protect citizens.

For Oyo State, terrorists don abduct 46 people – seven teachers and 39 students, including two-year-old toddler – from schools for Orire Local Government Area.

One of the abducted teachers, Michael Oyedokun, dem behead am, and video dey circulate for social media.

Assistant headmaster Joel Adesiyan and one commercial motorcyclist also die for the attack.

Dis na second brazen mass murder by terrorists for South West after Owo church massacre for 2022.

Many dey call for state police now to fight the invasion.
