APC primaries: Chinda, Gwamna, Hamzat, Adeola win; Alli lead for Oyo

Naija politics dey hot as All Progressives Congress (APC) don conduct primaries for many states. Kingsley Chinda, wey be ally of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, emerge as governorship candidate for Rivers State. For Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Alli dey lead with 578,143 votes, as results still dey come in.

For Lagos, Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat defeat Lanre Jim-Kamal to become APC candidate. Hamzat get support from Governor’s Advisory Council and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. For Ogun, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola win after direct primary, polling 3,023 votes for im ward.

For Gombe, Dr Jamilu Ishiaku Gwamna emerge winner with 247,161 votes. Former Minister Isa Ali Pantami score 12,120 votes, and former Minister Saidu Ahmed Alkali get 11,612 votes. Two aspirants withdraw but votes still count because ballot already print.

For Taraba, Governor Agbu Kefas contest alongside former Works Minister Sambo Jaji. David Sabo Kente withdraw from race. Voting dey go on peaceful, results still dey expect.

For Kaduna, Governor Uba Sani secure ticket with 459,393 affirmation votes as sole aspirant. INEC officials monitor the exercise.

For Katsina, Governor Dikko Radda get affirmation as consensus candidate. Former governor Aminu Masari thank stakeholders for cooperation. 160 delegates unanimously affirm Radda.

For Kebbi, Governor Nasir Idris get second term ticket through affirmation. Abdulmalik Muhamud wey lead the APC committee say process transparent and credible.

For Kano, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf wey defect from NNPP to APC earlier this year get affirmation as sole candidate. Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin and other leaders attend. Yusuf say move go strengthen party unity.

For Niger, Governor Mohammed Umar Bago secure ticket through affirmation. Card-carrying members from all 277 wards endorse am.

For Sokoto, Governor Ahmed Aliyu get affirmation as candidate. Alhaji Muktari Birninwa wey lead APC committee say exercise peaceful and transparent.

For Delta, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori emerge unopposed with 345,375 votes. Vita Abba Okafor wey be returning officer declare am winner.

For Bauchi and Kwara, APC postpone governorship primaries due to crisis. For Kwara, confusion dey as voting already start for some wards before postponement. For Bauchi, supporters of Nura Manu Soro protest against alleged imposition. Police barricade party secretariat.

For Zamfara, party reschedule House of Assembly primaries for Maradun I and II constituencies to May 24, 2026.

APC National Working Committee approve the rescheduling for transparent and credible process. Felix Morka wey be party spokesman announce am.
