Di state coordinator of NYSC, Efeke Murna Dadaza, make dis appeal yesterday during di closing ceremony of dis year Batch 'A' Stream II Orientation Course wey hold for NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp at Government College, Kaduna.
Dadaza tok say di request become necessary to further improve di welfare of corps members for di state. She praise di state government for dia hospitality and warm reception wey dem give corps members wey dem post to di state, and she note say di support of di government don help make di orientation exercise successful.
Di coordinator urge di government to consider increasing di feeding allowance during orientation camps and also increasing di monthly stipend wey dem dey pay corps members. According to her, better welfare packages go further motivate corps members and make dem more productive during dia service year.
She also urge di corps members to maintain di discipline and values wey dem don learn during orientation and behave as worthy ambassadors of NYSC scheme. Dadaza advise dem to settle for dia various places of primary assignment and try to make meaningful contributions to dia host communities.
She further encourage di corps members to actively participate for Community Development Service (CDS) projects wey fit leave lasting positive impacts for dia host communities.
Governor Uba Sani, wey di Commissioner for Youth Development, Gloria Ibrahim, represent for di event, urge di corps members to accept dia postings, especially for rural communities where dia services dey needed most. Di governor say NYSC scheme remain vital platform for national integration, personal growth, and community development.
He assure di corps members say di state government go continue to provide safe and enabling environment for dem to carry out dia responsibilities effectively. Sani also appeal to employers to support di corps members so dat dem fit contribute productively for dia places of assignment.
He further urge di corps members to take advantage of di Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme to acquire practical skills wey go make dem self-reliant after service.
