World Water Day: CSOs dey beg FG to put women for front of water management

As World Water Day dey hold for 2026, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) for Nigeria don come out to beg Federal Government (FG) to make women dey central for management of water resources. Dem talk say women na the ones wey dey suffer pass when water no dey, and dem suppose dey involved for decisions wey concern water.

For Odisha State for India, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi don talk say women don dey entrusted with responsibility of water management. Him talk come match with the theme for this year World Water Day wey be “Water and Gender.” Majhi talk say women dey important for making sure say water dey available for communities.

CSOs for Nigeria dey use this example from India to beg FG. Dem talk say Nigeria get similar problems with water scarcity, and women dey the ones wey dey trek long distance to fetch water. Dem say if government involve women for planning, water projects go better.
