My people, make I carry una gist wey dey hot! Senator Orji Kalu don talk say National Assembly don set to finish work on the Electoral Act harmonisation matter today. Kalu, wey be former governor for Abia State, yarn this one during interview wey him do for Channels Television Sunrise Daily.
According to am, dem don dey receive plenty feedback from we, the Nigerians, about how dem wan amend the Electoral Act, and e talk say everything dey on track. Last week, dem even hold emergency sitting wey dem no plan for. Na today dem go gather again to finish am sharp sharp!
Kalu talk say dem suppose resume on the 24th people for budget hearing but dem don pause that one just to focus on the Electoral Committee wahala. The man dey serious o! E come give us insider gist say e dey among the Joint Harmonisation Committee and e don dey work from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. to make sure everything correct.
But hear this one, when dem suggest make dem go Senator President house to finish the harmonisation, our guy Kalu decline. Why? Because he no wan slack! The man say he need chop and rest after the long work for the National Assembly. I no go lie, the man dey proper!
This matter come follow after some wahala wey break out because lawmakers no gree agree on how dem go transmit election results. Dem say network coverage dey pose plenty problem. The Senate don approve electronic transmission of results but e no include the ‘real-time’ upload wey dey Clause 60(3) of the new Electoral Act. That one mean say if network no gree, dem go fall back to manual collation. E be like say House of Representatives dey reason am differently, because dem don already approve the ‘real-time’ upload directly from polling units to the INEC Result Viewing portal.
So, my people, make we dey follow this gist well-well as dem dey prepare for the final meeting today. E fit get as e go be, dem fit shock us with the final harmonised Electoral Act wey everybody go fit agree on! We go keep una updated, no worry!
