As Commissioner for Information, Okey Kanu, yan dis yarns, dem dey let us sabi wetin Law No. 4 of 2025 dey really talk. The law wey establish dis Centre no be say dem wan just drop money for elderly citizens like say na free cash society. Na full package of support and care dem dey provide.
Kanu come dey explain say na because of the plenty elderly people for Abia State, and all the wahala wey dem don face in terms of health and loneliness, dem come create dis law to support dem. E no be political matter, na real matter of life wey dem dey try address.
The Centre na official place wey senior citizens fit meet other people, share their experiences, plus get recreational activities. E go also help dem see health care and other social support wey dem need. Dem no dey just dump dem for corner like dem be old yam.
Na as dis Centre dey operate like government body, e go work under the supervision of Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Social Protection to make sure say everywhere dey transparent and accountable.
Okey Kanu assert say, Law No. 4 of 2025 be humane choice wey show say Abia dey recognize say aging na serious matter wey deserve proper attention.
