Nigerians dey suffer as JOHESU strike dey continue

My people, e be like say we don enter gbege as health workers don dey strike for over two months now. Dis whole matter don turn serious wahala for hospital, as patients no fit get di kind medical attention wey dem need.

Na 84 days since di Joint Health Sector Unions (JOHESU) don dey do their protest, and people dem dey suffer o! Many patients don koro-koro abandon public hospitals, and dem don dey rush go private places wey dey cost plenty money. Na wetin we call ‘health emergency’ be dis one.

JOHESU wey get all di health workers, like pharmacists, lab scientists, dem dey demand make di Federal Government adjust CONHESS wey no change since 2011. Dem say no be small thing wey dem need, and dem no go give up until dem get wetin dem want.

Kabiru Minjibir, di National President of JOHESU, talk say di strike go continue until dem see real action from di government. According to am, “Our demand no dey change, na just adjustment of CONHESS salary structure.” E no funny at all o!

The strike don make patient treatment scatter. For Kubwa General Hospital for Abuja, nurse wey dey work there talk say dem dey find am very tough to do dia job. E say “patients dey waka go outside to get everything wey dem need. Even if dem wan run test, all things don dey outside,” na wetin e yarn.

For Benue State, people dey vex as dem dey wait for surgery wey don dey overdue. Cletus Terkimbi don dey wait since December, and di guy dey shout say e no fit believe say e go still dey suffer like dis. Another patient wey wan do X-ray, Memuna Audi, dey shout say dem don turn am back. Dis one na serious matter for people wey no get money to enter private hospital.

For Kano, di strike don affect people too. E no fully paralyze di hospitals, but patients dey suffer as dem dey pay higher money for services. Di emergency unit dey work small-small, but many patients don dey complain say dem no fit get wetin dem need easily.

Bauchi dey feel di strikes impact well well too. Patients dey complain about high cost to move from one hospital to di other. Haruna Abdulmumin wey dey battle plenty sickness don spend over N120,000 for tests alone. See e, health no suppose cost person dis kain money!

Di whole situation na wah, as even di Federal Ministry of Health never show any clear response. Hospitals dey close, and patients dey suffer. If dem no fit settle dis matter sharp-sharp, e go continue dey affect everybody wey dey rely on dem for health care. Naija, we dey wait for solution!
