My people, e be like say trouble don land for Benue State as Lassa fever don begin waka again. The Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr Paul Ogwuche don come out come talk say dem don record 56 suspected cases. Chai, this one no sweet at all!

Dr Ogwuche, speakin for Makurdi, say dem don start emergency response to this wahala wey don show. Dem don dey notice say four healthcare workers don catch the virus – three nurses and one community health worker. As e stand now, three people don die as a result of this matter. E no be small wahala o!

The commissioner confirm say, “This outbreak no be joke again,” cause dem don confirm eight cases for laboratory, and three people don die wey dem confirm say dem catch am. Him no forget to celebrate one Benue-born doctor wey lose im life for Jos, Plateau State while e dey fight the good fight against the virus. Na real tragedy!

According to Dr Ogwuche, Lassa fever dey spread through rats and their droppings, but e fit follow man if care no dey. E don even tell us symptoms wey we go fit see if person dey catch am. If you dey see high fever, headache wey no fit gree rest, muscle pain, sore throat, vomiting, or even diarrhea, abeg no delay, waka go nearest hospital make dem check you well.

E clear say government dey take serious action to manage this outbreak. Dem don activate Public Health Emergency Operations Centre, wey go dey in charge for surveillance, case management, and public awareness for all the local government areas.
