The Director General of NAPTIP, Binta Bello, don yarn say e go better if school pikin dem fit join hand for this fight against child trafficking. Dis matter no be small, na serious gbege wey dey affect many families. As she talk through Ogun State Commander, Abosede Jimoh, dem dey start plan wey go involve 50 schools for Ogun state.

Bello explain say dem dey execute this sensitization programme in partnership with the Ogun state government and International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD). Dem don even get support from the Netherlands government wey dey fund the whole waka!

Na why she come dey call on our school pikin to dey shine their eye! Make dem dey aware of di tricks wey traffickers dey use, sometimes even person wey dem know. “Make una raise flag if una see anything wey no jive. No keep quiet!” she talk.

Dis Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Persons Vanguard Club go teach the children how to spot signs of traffickers, and wetin dem fit do to protect demself. Bello sabi say na dem pikin dey usually target, especially when dem no gree talk about wetin dey happen to dem. Dis program no be to just train dem; na to turn dem to mini ambassadors wey go carry di message go back to their communities.

Last year, dem don fit run dis program for 10 schools, and now dem don plan extra 15 schools to target this year. Already, four schools don receive dem as dem dey move around. Samuel Okoroji, wey be Project Officer of School Anti-Trafficking Education and Empowerment Project, don talk say dis initiative dey run for five states: Ogun, Benue, Delta, Edo, and Enugu.
