My people, wetin we dey hear for Naija today? Omo, dem don share N1.969 trillion wey collect for December 2025! This money no be small, e don reach Federal Government, states, and Local Government Councils (LGs) as dem gather for January FAAC meeting.
As we hear am, this big amount wey dem distribute, na from total revenue wey be N2.585 trillion. E get money wey dey come from statutory revenue, VAT (Value Added Tax), and even Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL). Serious gist, my guys!
Make we break am down small: the statutory revenue come be N1.084 trillion, VAT na N846.507 billion, then EMTL na N38.110 billion. But by the time dem deduct collecting costs of N104.697 billion, e remain N1.969 trillion to share. No be joke!
As e be, Federal Government chop N653.500 billion, states carry N706.469 billion, while LGs dey enjoy N513.272 billion. But wait, state wey get mineral revenue di share dey get extra N96.083 billion. Na so dem dey system!
For the statutory revenue, Federal Government tear N520.807 billion, states collect N264.160 billion, and LGs dey git N203.656 billion. And for VAT, Federal get N126.976 billion, states chop N423.254 billion, while LGs dey take N296.277 billion. No be wah!
Even EMTL no gree sidon, Federal Government catch N5.717 billion, while states and LGs collect N19.055 billion and N13.338 billion respectively. Wetin you expect, as e be, every penny count for Nigeria!
So, my people, this na good news for us, but dem still talk say oil and gas royalty don increase small, while some other taxes no dey happy like before. E fit be say dem go do better next month, we go dey watch this space!
