Dem say the reason na because of court matter wey still dey affect their leadership structure. So, as e be now, na only 12 political parties go fit contest the election. As e stand, the incumbent, Biodun Oyebanji from APC, go run again with his running mate Monisade Afuye. E be like say dem ready to flex for the election.
Another candidates wey don qualify join dis race na Opeyemi Falegan from Accord Party, he dey waka with Omoyeni Bayode. Akande Oluwasegun from African Action Congress no dey left out, him dey run with Oluwasanmi Fajuyigbe. E no finish there, Ayodeji Ojo from Action Democratic Party dey vying to take over too with Itunu Ibitoye.
Land no dey for women as all the governorship candidates wey dey contest no get female face inside the mix. But as naija go, dem don still drop some women for deputy position across the different parties. Wetin we go talk about people wey get disability? Dem no get representation at all, na so e be. No woman go run the guber, wetin we go do now?
INEC also show the academic qualifications of all the candidates. Makes sense, abeg! Biodun Oyebanji sabi book well, him get First School Leaving Certificate, West African School Certificate, Bachelor’s and Master’s degree o! His mate, Afuye, no too far behind with the First School and WAEC too.
Meanwhile, PDP don already clear dem throat, dey talk say dem go still participate for the election despite wetin INEC drop. Their candidate, Dr. Wole Oluyede, dey ready to take legal action to make sure dem bring him name back to the list. So, no be small wahala we go see this week as dem don dey prepare for court. Gbosa!
SDP too dey waka with their Chairman, Bamikole Ayodele, wey dey vex say dem no include their candidate on the list. E say dem go run all the legal angles to make sure say their man no comot.
As for wey dey watch for the house, make we see how this drama go unfold. Naija politics dey sweet like jollof rice sometimes with all the twists and turns. One tin we sabi, guber elections no be beans, so let’s keep our ears on the ground! Who go carry the day? E go shock us!
