As e be, dem don start this strike since January 12, 2026 because government no gree answer dem on wetin dem dey ask. Dem demand plenty things wey concern salary and welfare for di school staff. First, dem wan make government approve beta salary increase of 35 percent and 25 percent for staff wey dey affected.
Nasir-Gidado no stop there o! E still talk say dem dey demand for proper placement of staff wey follow di Consolidated Tertiary Institutions Salary Structure (CONTISS 15) wey dem no migrate. Chai! And as if na small matter, dem also complain say students’ registration fees dey increase sharply without considering di wahala wey di economy dey cause. This kain increase dey stop students from enrolling!
But thank God, some big men and respected people for di state don waka enter di matter, and e lead to di suspension of dis warning strike. Dr. Nasir-Gidado talk say negotiation go start with di government sharp-sharp to settle all di matter wey dey ground.
As dem don agree everything, he sabi gree make all members return to their work with di usual ginger wey dem dey show. Di institutions wey dey affected na Hassan Usman Katsina Polytechnic, Isa Kaita College of Education, Dutsin-ma, and Yusuf Bala Usman College of Education and Legal Studies, Daura. Plus, College of Nursing Sciences for Katsina and Malumfashi, College of Health Science and Technology for Daura/Kankia, and Institute of Technology and Management. Na serious matter be dis!
Nasir-Gidado also use dis opportunity thank di parents and students wey don bear di brunt of di strike, and e assure dem say di forum go pursue dem demands with full force. E no dey easy, but dem dey try their best to make sure everythnig work out well for di students and staff.
