The Emir come suggest say make dem rename University of Ilorin to Sheikh Alimi name during di 50th anniversary gist, but e no sweet everywhere. Di Forum don talk say dat idea na serious provocation wey fit spark ethnic fight for di state.

According to di Forum, di university no belong to only Ilorin people, but to everybody wey dey Kwara. Dem emphasize say Kwara no dey to one side. Dem talk say, “Kwara na catchment area for di school, and wetin no fit work for monkey no go fit work for man.”

Dem also no gree say di university wey dey Ilorin mean say na dem get am. Di one wey dem dey call privilege of host community no be di same as ownership. Na im dem rant about how Sheikh Alimi name no carry weight for other tribes for di state, especially Ekiti, Ibolo and Igbomina.

Na so dem come suggest, if dem really wan immortalize Sheikh Alimi, make dem just open private university wey go carry im name instead. Dem don sabi plenty private institutions wey dey spring up for Kwara South like Landmark University, Abubakar AbdulRazaq Toyin University, and many more.

As per Kwara State Government House matter, dem no happy about di name wey dem give am – Ahmadu Bello House – because dem no consult all di different tribes wey dey for di state. Dem dey request make dem rename am back to Brigadier General David Bamigboye House because him na di first Military Governor wey get sense.
