Borno state dey feel am well-well, as about 15,000 pipo dey dey risk to fall into catastrophic hunger – dat one go be like say dem dey one step away from famine, my people!
Di tin wey make am worse na di violence wey dey happen for di north, wey don scatter many rural communities. Families don dey displaced, and food reserves don go down like say ‘e no dey exist. As violence dey increase, e dey push pipo to look for food and shelter anyhow.
As e be now, WFP dey try manage dey hand as dem don slash food assistance from 1.3 million pipo to just 72,000. Wetin dem wan make dem do? Na wetin we go talk today? Time no dey! We need to find $129 million quickly to hold di ground – or we go see serious kasala!
Wetin David Stevenson, wey dey for WFP Nigeria tok? E tok say dis no be time to stop food assistance at all. If dem try am, wetin we go see na humanitarian disaster wey fit turn plenty pipo to desperate men wey go just carry leg waka anywhere e sweet dem!
Nigeria no dey alone for dis wahala o! Kenya too dey collect am well-well. Dem dey face drought wey don affect over two million pipo wey no get food to chop. Dem dey mobilize as WHO dey try provide help for people wey dey suffer malnutrition because wetin dem go chop wan finish!
As we dey face all dis wahala, make we no forget say we fit turn am around. E go require plenty efforts from every side – both di government and di partners – but if we fit join hand build dis country, we go help di pipo wey dey suffer for dis bad time. E go need proper planning and investment to make sure say dem no dey go hungry in di future.
