My people, na big gist una go hear today! The wahala wey ASUU dey bring come education sector don reduce like magic, thanks to our oga wey dey run this Renewed Hope government, Bola Tinubu.
Dada Olusegun, wey be Special Assistant to our oga Bola Tinubu for Social Media, don yarn say ASUU don only strike once since this new government land for 2023. Na only one warning strike wey last for nine days. E say this one no be happenstance; na the way dem don put plenty hand well well for education matter.
According to am, “ASUU don only strike once since the beginning of this Renewed Hope administration; na just that warning strike wey last nine days.” Dis one different from the plenty strikes wey we don dey see for past governments; dem better try o!
But no be say wetin Dada talk be totally correct; as PUNCH Online don check and find out say even though no full-blown prolonged strike don happen since Tinubu land for the seat, ASUU don still drop plenty ultimatums and small warning strikes dey come out, especially concerning wahala wey dey related to funding and allowances. So e fit be say na wetin dey happen for corner o.
Dada also carry better news come as e tell say Federal Government don bag major achievement for the matter wey involve long-standing wahala with ASUU after dem renegotiated the 2009 agreements. E declare say, “We fit don drive nails on top ASUU strikes matter; we don finally reach road wey go lead to solution.”
As we dey gist so, dem don lay some serious plans wey go fit help education sector come back strong under Tinubu, as part of the Renewed Hope agenda. Dem even talk about something wey dem call the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) wey dey work fine. Dada say dem go soon drop more details on how government dey hammer wahala wey make public universities dey strike all the time.
Dem don list some measures wey government don take: First, dem remove Federal tertiary institutions from IPPIS, so dem fit dey manage their own payroll and have small autonomy. Second, dem join all tertiary unions together for one Negotiation Committee, so everybody go fit yan mouth one place. Third, ₦150 billion don dey allocated for university revitalisation inside the 2025 budget, split into three payments of ₦50 billion each. Finally, dem don release ₦50 billion for Earned Academic Allowances.
As if that one no enough, dem also sign landmark agreement and salary review on January 14, 2026. No forget say all dis na sign of better time for education sector under Tinubu’s watch.
My people, make we dey follow how dis education wahala dey unfold and see how goment go fit handle am. Na so we go dey bring una updates as e dey hot!
